I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio where 200 inches of annual snowfall was the 'norm'. I attended Purdue University where I earned my Pharmacy degree, prior to attending medical school at West Virginia University. I completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at WVU and have been on faculty at WVU since then. I have been active in medical student and residency education and in my own clinical practice I split my time between IM and Psychiatry. Anyone who knows me soon finds out how much I love medicine and the longlasting relationships we form with our patients. I also have an identical twin who is a Peds/ER doc at Children's in Columbus, Ohio.
My only 'international' travel has been to Scotland to golf, so coming to Ghana, Africa will be an adventure for me !! I look forward to sharing my knowledge, lending a hand to those in need and seeing and learning things I have never seen before.
In my spare time, I enjoy Mountaineer football games, golfing, beach trips and spending time with my family. My partner and I have a daughter, Carly, who is 5, and son Andrew who is almost 7. They keep us pretty busy and by March each year they yearn for our annual beach trip to Hilton Head or the Outerbanks of North Carolina ! This should be an amazing trip is so many ways. Thanks to those that have helped coordinate this from the Baptist Medical Centre.
